ANTIGONE

Is society obligated to follow the law when the law defies common decency, or are we obligated to resist? Sophocles challenges Americans today in the same way he challenged the ancient Greeks when the play first premiered. The third play in the Oedipus Cycle, Antigone centers around the choice Antigone makes, and how pride can corrupt a once reasonable man.
