About Dylan
~In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary.
Dylan G Bollinger is a scenographer based in Kansas City, MO.
His love of design began in high school where he was put behind an ETC Express, and discovered how lighting design could help facilitate story telling. Since then, his love of lighting has never dimmed, pun intended. While in graduate school, Dylan expanded his design skills to scenic, sound, and digital media design; embracing the scenographic philosophy of design.
Dylan received his undergraduate education and an M.Ed in Theatre Education at Columbus State University (CSU). He earned his MFA in Drama with a concentration in design from The University of North Carolina Greensboro. While serving as a resident designer at Weathervane Playhouse in Newark, Ohio Dylan won two Broadway World Awards for his designs of Pippin and Matilda the Musical. Additionally Dylan has worked for President Joe Biden and Grammy Award Winning groups The Manhattan Transfer and Take 6. While at CSU, Dylan received the National Stage Management Fellowship with the Kennedy Center and was also recognized by the Kennedy Center for his lighting design for the world premiere production of Compañeras.
In his free time, Dylan enjoys reading new plays, writing, drawing, and spending time with family and friends.
